1. Remember that cancer is not contagious. You can touch, hug, and kiss your family or friend. Human contact is very necessary.
2. Love is never having to say, "I'm sorry" Take that from your vocabulary. Sympathize with your family and friends, not for them.
3. You can do things for them, like, grocery shopping, stay with them sometime so the caregiver can get out, ask them what you can do to help.
4. Do not visit if you think you are sick, as their immune system might be weakened from all the treatment
5. It is nice to be a good listener.
6. You can be a good companion during meals and other times.
7. It is also good to be cheerful whenever you are around them
.
8. Don't be afraid to be funny and laugh. It is proven that laughter is the best therapy.
9. Don't be afraid to say the word, cancer, call it what it is.
10. Always try to clarify that you are with them to help and give support, not to offer sympathy. Also try to be calm and just be there for them.
